COVID-19 testing (Photo: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) – documented 44 new COVID-19 cases in
the past 12 hours to 6am on June 8, including one imported case, according to
the Health
Ministry.
The 43 domestically-transmitted cases, including 22 in Bac Giang, six in Bac
Ninh and 15 in Ho Chi Minh City, were all detected in quarantined or locked-down
areas.
The imported case has been sent to quarantine right upon
arrival in the central province of Quang Nam.
To date, Vietnam has
found 7,445 domestically-transmitted and 1,582 imported cases. The number
of cases detected since April 27 when the fourth wave of the pandemic began in the country
is 5,875.
The number of recoveries is 3,509, while the number of fatalities stands at 53.
Among patients undergoing treatment in medical establishments, 216 tested
negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 72 twice and 75 thrice.
There are currently 176,398 people who had close contact
with confirmed patients and entered the country from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine at
hospitals, concentrated quarantine facilities or residences.
On June 7, 87,016 additional vaccine shots were injected, raising the
total delivered vaccine doses as of 4pm the same day to 1.34 million, with
38,166 people receiving full two shots.
The Health Ministry called on everyone to follow its 5K message, including khau
trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu
tap (no gathering), and khai bao y te (health declaration), and get
vaccinated./.
