COVID-19 testing (Photo: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked relevant agencies to issue forms for COVID-19 pre-testing and test results of passengers at airports in both Vietnamese and English.
The authority explained that it had found a number of problems in the process of conducting rapid on passengers entering Vietnam via international flights, including the use of Vietnamese only in those forms, making it difficult for foreign passengers and causing congestion at testing areas.
In order to reduce the risk of pandemic spreading and create more favourable conditions for passengers, the CAAV asked the to work with testing service suppliers to agree on the issuance of bilingual forms for pre-testing and test results.
Earlier, authorities requested all passengers who have gone through countries where Omicron was found to take rapid tests before boarding and after leaving airports in Vietnam to prevent the spreading of the new variant of SARS-CoV-2.
Airlines are asked to coordinate with related stakeholders and authorities to conduct rapid tests and handle cases testing positive for the virus.
They are also not allowed to carry passengers who do not meet the requirements of the quick tests, as per direction of the Prime Minister.
The CAAV also requested airport authorities to inform all airlines and testing service suppliers at airports about the use of the Vietnamese-English forms, while supervising the implementation of the regulations./.
