Hanoi (VNA) –
Advances and
in the field of are being presented at the first Vietnam multidisciplinary
oncology conference being held in Hanoi on September 5 and 6.

Organised by the ,
Salt Cancer Initiative, the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, Viettel
Group, Forbes Vietnam, and the University of Southern California, the
has attracted academics, scientists, and healthcare professionals
from leading cancer hospitals in the US and Vietnam.

The event has created an
opportunity for them to share knowledge, exchange experience, and collaborate
for improving the quality of cancer treatment and prevention.

The Vietnam Oncology
Patient Forum will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 8 to
connect cancer patients and caregivers with physicians and supporting
organisations in the fight against the disease.

It will be attended by
over 400 cancer patients in the city and raise public awareness about cancer in
Vietnam, according to the organisers.

Each year in Vietnam more than 120,000 new
cancer cases are detected with more than 75,000 dying.

Despite the many significant achievements in
cancer treatment, for various reasons the disease continues to increase
globally and in Vietnam, indicating that additional efforts and new initiatives
