HCM City still topped the list with 5,735 new
infections, followed by neighbouring Binh Duong province with 2,998, Dong
Nai (567), Long An (281), and Kien Giang (198). The capital city of Hanoi reported
15 cases.
A further 10,901 recoveries were reported on
September 16, taking the total number of patients given the all-clear
to 423,551.
There were also 234 during the day, while
localities added five deaths from previous days, raising total death toll to
16,425 or 2.5 percent of the national caseload.
