Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam had reported
a total of 65,046 cases of nationwide and seven fatalities as of
mid-September, revealed the (MoH) on September 16.

The number marks a year-on-year plunge
of 65.6 percent. However, it is forecast to increase due to the current rainy
season.

The MoH has ordered preventive measures
since the start of the year and asked localities to keep a close watch on the implementation
of such measures.

It has conducted inspections at high-risks
localities, held virtual events on the prevention of the disease, and arranged
training courses for .

The ministry also called on people to
closely follow health regulations, such as covering all water containers and
killing larvae regularly, among others

According to the MoH, on average, Vietnam
reports more than 100,000 dengue cases yearly. However, the number last year hit 320,331, the highest in the last 32 years, with 53 deaths./.
