case of COVID-19 over the last 12 hours, bringing the national total to 1,099,
the national steering committee for prevention and control said on
October 7 evening.
The 28-year-old woman returned from Australia on
Flight QH89 on September 23 and was sent to the concentrated quarantine centre
of Can Tho city upon her arrival.
Of the total case, 691 infected the
domestically, with 551 reported since July 25, when the new outbreak
began.
October 7 also marks the 35th straight day
without of COVID-19 in the country.
As many as 1,023 patients have recovered while
35 have succumbed to the disease.
Five of those still under treatment have tested
negative for the virus once, eight others twice, and five thrice, according to
the treatment sub-committee.
There are now 14,550 people having close contact
with confirmed cases or coming from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine,
including 261 in hospitals, 11,817 in other quarantine sites, and 2,472 at home
or accommodation facilities./.
