In Vientiane, Laos (Photo: Xinhua) Vientiane (VNA) – Laos has called on its citizens in
Thailand to return home via official channel to receive support in immigration,
medical screening and quarantine in line with regulations.
On July 18, the Lao Health
Ministry announced additional 131 infection cases in the past 24 hours, a daily
record, eight of them were local transmissions in Champasak province. A death was
also reported the same day, bringing the total fatalities to five.
The country also received
over 1 million doses of vaccine manufactured by Johnson & Johnson via COVAX
Facility initiative. Priority will be given to those aged above 60, frontline
medical staff and those with underlying diseases.
Lao has so far reported
3,426 infection cases./.
