HCM City (VNA) – The under the Ministry of
Health in conjunction with the (UNICEF) on March
21 held a workshop that gave guidelines on surveying the satisfaction of
mothers and children with obstetric and pediatric services.
Addressing the workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, Associate Prof. Dr. Luong Ngoc
Khue, head of the department, said surveys are necessary as they help medical
facilities make reforms in administration and treatment, thus improving the
quality of .
A serious survey would help find issues in the sector, he said.
The ministry has complied questionnaires that assess the satisfaction of mothers
with obstetric care, as well as breastfeeding practices, the official said,
adding that the questionnaires focus on health workers’ attitude and advertisements
for products that replace breast milk.
Do Hong Phuong, a UNICEF expert, urged hospital directors to place more
importance on nutrition issues, breastfeeding and obstetric and pediatric care.
UNICEF will continue to support, supervise and evaluate obstetric and pediatric
care at Vietnamese medical centres, she said. -VNA
