A series of future cooperation programmes in health and food safety between Vietnam and New Zealand have been formed as a result of a recent visit to the latter made by a delegation from the .

The delegation led by Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien had a working session with New Zealand Minister Jo Goodhew. The two sides agreed to boost bilateral engagement in improving food quality through manpower exchange.

Accordingly, experts from New Zealand will come to Vietnam for technical assistance and experience sharing while Vietnamese personnel will be sent to the country learning about the sector management.

Meanwhile, during another session, Minister Tien and Associate Minister Peseta Sam Lotu-liga discussed a memorandum of understanding on medical cooperation that is expected to be signed in November when ’s Prime Minister visits Vietnam.

They reached consensus on strengthening collaboration in caring for aging population, curbing smoke, and training human resources, among others.

The delegation also visited major State-run medical companies, such as Assure Quality, PHARMAC and Orion Health.

After two days working in New Zealand, the Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to visit Australia from August 24 – 25.-VNA
