An Giang (VNA) – An 600-bed officially began operation on April 29 in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang.

With an investment of 1.3 trillion VND (nearly 57 million USD) sourced from the Government bonds and local budget, the hospital is equipped with . This is the first hospital in the Mekong Delta region to have a .

Construction of the 10-floor facility began in June 2012 on 4.6 hectares.

The hospital aims to provide residents in the province and neighbouring localities with better access to treatment and ease the overload at central level hospitals.-VNA
