Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam confirmed 260 new ,
including two imported cases, from 6am to 12pm on the first day of July, pushing
up the national tally to 17,312, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Among the 258 , 154 were found in Ho Chi Minh City, 48 in Binh
Duong, 28 in Long An, ten in Phu Yen, five in Hung Yen, four in Bac Giang,
three each in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, and one each in Binh Phuoc, Dong Thap, and
Bac Ninh. Of them, 207 were detected in quarantine sites or sealed-off areas.

The two imported cases were immediately put into quarantine
upon their arrival in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang.

As of 12pm, Vietnam had confirmed 15,512 domestic and 1,800
imported cases. A total of 6,840 patients were given the , while the
death toll reached 81.

Of the patients under treatment, 278 tested negative for the
novel coronavirus once, 14 twice and 81 thrice.

The number of local infections since the fourth wave of
outbreaks hit the country on April 27 amounted to 13,942, of whom
4,066 had recovered.
Fourteen localities went through two weeks without new infections in the
community./.
