cases, including nine imported and 210 local infections, over the last six
hours to 6pm on July 2, raising the national tally to 18,121, according to the
(MoH).
Among the new , 150 were found in
Ho Chi Minh City, 20 in Phu Yen, 13 in Binh Duong, 10 in Quang Ngai, three each
in Da Nang and Vinh Long, two each in Long An, An Giang and Tay Ninh, and one
each in Nghe An, Dong Thap, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Lam Dong.
A total of 545 cases were reported, and 148 patients were given the all-clear on July 2, the
ministry said.
The number of cases since the fourth COVID-19 wave hit
the country in late April amounted to 14,715, of whom 4,621 have been given the
all-clear.
As of July 2, the country counted 16,285 domestic and 1,836 imported
cases.
Among active patients undergoing treatment, 260 have
tested negative to the coronavirus , 138 twice and 89 thrice.
Also on July 2, the sub-committee for treatment of the National Steering Committee for Prevention and Control announced three deaths related to COVID-19, including two in HCM
City and one in the northern province of Bac Ninh.
The patient in Bac Ninh is a 69-year-old man in Yen
Phong district. On May 13, the patient was tested positive for COVID-19. He
was diagnosed with pneumonia caused by COVID-19, exhaustion and was treated
with antibiotics.
The patient died on June 30 due to septic shock,
multi-organ failure and severe pneumonia with complications caused by COVID-19.
Another death is a 67-year-old man in Thu Duc district,
HCM City with an underlying condition of history of hypertension, type 2
diabetes and chronic renal failure.
The other death is a 64-year-old man in District 12,
HCM City. The patient had a history of hypertension and heart disease. On June
15, the patient tested positive for the coronavirus and was transferred to the
Cu Chi hospital for treatment.
Diagnosis included septic shock, multiple organ
failure, severe pneumonia caused by Covid-19, complications of progressive
respiratory failure with a background of hypertension and heart disease./.
