HCM City (VNA) – The newly-set up resuscitation
centre in Ho Chi Minh City, the current largest
hotspot of Vietnam, has played an important role in providing treatment for
which are on the increase.

Some 160 patients are
being treated at the 1,000-bed hospital as of July 18, according to Doctor Tran
Thanh Linh, deputy head of both Cho Ray Hospital’s intensive care unit and the
newly-established hospital.

In addition, the
Ministry of Health has mobilised over 530 medical workers from four hospitals
in HCM City to the centre. Three northern localities – Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa and
Hai Phong, and two central hospitals in Thanh Hoa and Vinh Phuc have also sent
their to HCM City to help with the treatment of patients in
critical conditions.  

The city’s Department
of Health has also decided to transform the Go Vap General Hospital into a
specialised facility for critical COVID-19 patients. The facility currently has
300 beds and will work to increase the number of beds to 500./.
