The Ministry of Health has provided guidelines to localities on COVID-19 vaccination
as part of efforts to allow students to return to school, Deputy Minister Do
Xuan Tuyen said at a press conference following the Government’s regular press conference for October.

Tuyen said that along with releasing a decision on
vaccination instructions, the ministry has published on the national
vaccination portal the detailed guidelines and directions to ensure safety of
vaccination and in particular.

Regarding the possibility of allowing students back to school, Deputy Minister of Education and Training
Hoang Minh Son said that to date, 21 cities and provinces have reopened schools, while 18 combined online and direct learning, and 24 others have
applied online learning through the Internet and television.

In localities with large
numbers of students like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, plans on resuming
learning activities at schools have been made, but the decision will be made by the
localities themselves, he said.

learning activities as well as students’ psychological health.

The two ministers agreed
to organise an online conference early next month with the Departments of
Health and Education and Training in all cities, provinces and districts to
seek measures to ensure safety for students when direct teaching and learning
activities are resumed.

and Training has requested localities and the to make plans
to vaccinate students, especially those aging 12-18 years old, against
COVID-19 as soon as possible, said Son./.
