Representatives of Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai General Hospital in the southern province of Dong Nai gathered on August 27 to discuss ways to expand the network of .
Deputy Director of Pham Ngoc Thao said satellite hospital networks helped ensure at local levels, thus easing the burden on higher-level hospitals.
The network’s capability has also been enhanced thanks to advanced technologies and technical transfers from ‘core hospitals’, he said.
Director of Dong Nai General Hospital Phan Huy Anh Vu said so far, the hospital has received six technical transfer packages from Cho Ray Hospital, contributing to improving its healthcare service quality.
Since 2013, Cho Ray Hospital has transferred technologies to , facilitating healthcare check-ups among local residents, said Director of the provincial Department of Health Huynh Minh Hoan.
Dong Nai General Hospital, with 1,400 beds, receives more than 3,000 patients each day.
In the first half of this year, only 3.4 percent of its patients needed to be transferred to higher-level hospitals.-VNA
