organisation (VCF) and presented to at a
ceremony on January 5.
The equipment is part of a programme
designed to improve pediatric emergency capacity in the Mekong Delta province
of Kien Giang.
On the occasion, 32 doctors from
14 hospitals across the province took part in a pediatric advanced life support
(PALS) course on teamwork first aid skills in emergency situations like heart
stop, irregular heartbeat, and severe injuries.
VCF Chairman Don Lam said the
organisation has to date sponsored heart surgery for 217 children in Kien Giang.
It worked with the Thanh Ha company to run the programme on improving pediatric
emergency capacity at two hospitals and a medical centre on Phu Quoc island.
VinaCapital Foundation was
established in 2007 as a US-registered, non-profit, tax-deductible organisation,
and was licensed as an international NGO in Vietnam.
Its operations aim at increasing
living quality for Vietnamese youths through healthcare and educational
